Background and Role

Objective: Create a forum for the animation industry and universities to share expertise among students, media, industry professionals, and prospective partners. The initiative aimed to attract talent, collaborators, and clients, with the rallying call “100 animation masters on 100 campuses.”

Role: I led programming and project management for the AI Meets Animation: From the Unknown to the Future livestream and the AIGC Maker Camp at the University of Science and Technology of China. The team handled execution. The camp featured talks, technical sessions, design thinking, hands-on projects, and final demos.

Strategy

Strategy: China’s animation industry lacked a forum for in-person collaboration. Our team brought in recognized speakers and covered topics attendees could learn something new from. We encouraged students, media, and industry participants to share the content and used that attention to connect with talent, partners, and prospective clients.

Results

Results: We co-hosted more than 10 campus talks and received invitations from more than 10 universities in Hubei and five elsewhere in China. We reached more than 5,000 students in the field and built six private student communities, each with more than 200 members.
